To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the chairman and members of the Forestry Review Group; on what date he expects to receive their report; and whether the group will go out to public consultation.

The Forestry Review Group consists of the following officials:

  • Mr. T. R. Cutler, Director General, Forestry Commission;
  • Mr. D. S. Grundy, Commissioner, Forestry Commission
  • Dr. S. Harding, Forestry Commission;

  • Mr. K. Cosgriff, HM Treasury;
  • Mr. T. J. Osmond, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food;
  • Mr. L. K. Walford, Welsh Office;
  • Dr. R. Shaw, Department of the Environment;
  • Mr. D. Green, Prime Minister's Policy Unit;
  • Mr. S. Hampson, The Scottish Office Environment Department;

I expect to receive the group's advice in the new year. This advice is, and will remain, confidential to Ministers.
