To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the expected outturn of expenditure in the current financial year on(a) the National Rivers Authority, (b) Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution and (c) the Countryside Commission; and what is the budgeted figure for HMIP for 1994–95.

The expected expenditure outturn for 1993–94 is £444 million for the National Rivers Authority, £27.4 million for Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution and £44 million for the Countryside Commission. The budget for HMIP for 1994–95 is £29.4 million.
