HC Deb 02 December 1993 vol 233 c724W
Ms Short

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many people were participating in(a) training for work (employment training/employment action), (b) community action, (c) learning for work, (d) the business start-up allowance and (e) youth training in each month since March; and if he will make a statement.

Sir Wyn Roberts

The information requested on the numbers participating in the respective training schemes is provided in the table for the first five four-weekly periods of 1993–94.

Figures for learning for work figures are not available for these periods as it did not start until September 1993. Community action is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Employment.

Mr. Redwood

I am satisfied that the Energy Advisory Panel containing representation from Welsh industry, recently set up by my colleague the Minister for Energy to advise the Government on the preparation of an annual energy Report, will cover Welsh interests. I am in frequent contact with the President of the Board of Trade about energy matters in Wales.
