§ Mr. BowisForty-two written responses were received from local authority associations, voluntary organisations and private sector companies. There was no understanding that the responses would be made public and so I do not think it would be appropriate to place copies in the Library.
§ Mr. BlunkettTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what proposals her Department has put forward to privatise secure accommodation for juvenile offenders; and what arrangements will be made to advertise the contracts.
§ Mr. BowisProposals for legislative changes to enable the voluntary and private sectors to provide secure accommodation will be introduced to Parliament in due course.
