HC Deb 02 December 1993 vol 233 cc715-6W
Ms Short

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security under what circumstances an attachment of earnings order for the collection of child maintenance by the Child Support Agency can be served on an organisation which provides a training programme funded by the European social fund requiring the organisation to make deductions from either(a) a training allowance paid to the trainee or (b) a wage paid to the trainee; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Burt

A deduction from earnings order is made where the Secretary of State decides this is needed to secure the payment of child support maintenance by a liable person; it is an instruction to that person's employer to make deductions from earnings and to pay the amount

The Benefits Agency is committed to improving customer services and, therefore, welcomes any suggestions on how it can improve upon its forms.
