To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage if he will establish a public inquiry into BBC contracting.

No. I am satisfied that the management of the BBC is well seized of the need for effective financial controls in all its areas of activity, and is able and willing to investigate and rectify any irregularities which may come to light.
