Mr. William Ross

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is his estimate of the average number of vehicles which presently use the road in Banagher glen each day; what is his estimate of the average number which will use it when the glen is reopened to the public; and what are the present and projected figures of(a) winter and (b) summer months and for (i) weekdays and (ii) weekends.

Mr. Atkins

The number of vehicles which presently use the road in Banagher glen is estimated at 14 per weekday. No estimate is available for weekends. When the road up to the nature reserve is opened to the public, it is estimated that at peak times the average number of vehicles using it will be 45 per weekday. Estimates for other times have not been made.
