§ Mr. RedwoodVictor Hausner's evaluation of the first programme for the valleys—1988 to 1993—has informed the development of the latest five-year programme.
Two of the programme's aims specifically tackle unemployment by focusing on creating more, better quality jobs, and improving training, education, and transport so that local people can benefit.
