To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will take immediate steps to contain the infestation of dry rot in several buildings at Royal Clarence yard, Gosport.

Treatment of the dry rot found in three buildings at Royal Clarence yard is being considered in the context of our future plans for the establishment.

Mr. Viggers

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what are his plans for disposing of the Royal Clarence yard, Gosport; and what is the proposed timing of the disposal;

(2) if he will dispose of the four residential properties at the entrance to Royal Clarence yard, Gosport.

We are examining the scope and feasibility of releasing some or all of Royal Clarence yard and hope to announce a decision shortly.
