HC Deb 01 December 1993 vol 233 c547W
Sir David Steel

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will undertake a review of the fees structure relating to planning applications for agricultural buildings to bring the fees charged more closely into line with the overall cost of each project.

Mr. Curry

No. The purpose of planning application fees is to cover local authorities' costs in determining planning applications. They are not related to project costs. There is no evidence that the fees payable in respect of agricultural buildings are too high.
