To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has regarding the percentage of(a) three-year-old children and (b) four-year-old children who attend nursery school in each local education authority area in Scotland.

The information is set out in the table. The percentage figures are based on the mid–1992 estimates of the three- and four-year-old population.
