§ Mr. AitkenThe United Nations conventional arms register refers to 14 large-calibre artillery systems. These are 14 self-propelled launcher loaders (SPLLs) for the multiple launch rocket system (MLRS). MLRS is an international collaborative project and under the workshare arrangements for the project some SPLLs are finally assembled by Aerospatiale in France before delivery to the partner nations. The 14 SPLLs in question were delivered in 1992 from Aerospatiale to the British Army of the Rhine as part of the United Kingdom's total requirement for MLRS launchers.
