§ Mr. SoamesPotatoes, aubergines, green and red peppers and green tomatoes contain glyco alkaloids. Figures are not collected centrally in the form requested. Local authorities have powers under the Food Safety Act 1990 to ensure that foodstuffs containing unacceptable levels of alkaloids do not enter the food supply.
