§ Mr. BaldryResources to make safe disused mine shafts are available in England through derelict land grant and in Wales through the Welsh Development Agency's land reclamation programme. Normally these are provided where the treatment of the mineshaft forms part of the scheme for the reclamation of derelict land. However, resources are also available for the treatment of isolated mine shafts which threaten public safety or which endanger existing development.
