§ Mr. Douglas HoggOn 8 April, the President of the United Nations Security Council issued a statement on North Korea which expressed concern at the situation, reaffirmed the importance of the non-proliferation treaty and of parties adhering to it, and encouraged the International Atomic Energy Agency to continue consultations with North Korea. The Security Council remains seized of the matter and discussions continue on how to resolve the situation.
