Mr. Byers

To ask the Secretary of State for Education how many parents rang the grant-maintained schools' helpline during its pilot period; and whether it is to be established on a permanent basis.

Mr. Forth

The grant-maintained helpline received 2,650 calls during the six week pilot period, of which 2,040 were from parents. The Department is currently
