§ Mr. CurryThe Department is sponsoring research on a number of topics relevant to biofuels and other non-food uses of crops, and is working closely with other departments, in particular the Department of Trade and Industry's energy technology support unit. We are also pressing for perennial crops such as short rotation coppice and miscanthus to be eligible under the non-rotational option for set-aside.
