What has been the number of people employed in England and Wales in (a) the brewing industry and (b) the licensed trade in each year since 1982.

The available information on employees in employment in England and Wales is from the censuses of employment—taken in September of 1981, 1984, 1987, 1989 and 1991—and is given in the following table:

Annual figures are available for Great Britain as a whole for SICs 6620 and 6630.
