HC Deb 23 April 1993 vol 223 c253W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will ensure that all deaf and hard of hearing people in Wales have access to national health service sight tests; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gwilym Jones

There are no plans to extend the categories of those eligible for national health service sight tests which already provide free sight tests to those most in need, for example, children, those on low income and people most at risk at developing serious eye disease. These examination groups cover approximately 45 per cent. of the population of Great Britain.
