HC Deb 23 April 1993 vol 223 cc216-7W
Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what considerations have been given in to the safety of the convictions of Sam Kulasingham and Prem Sivalingham; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Jack

Following a number of representations about the safety of these convictions, Essex police were asked to make some further inquiries. A report was received last month. It is now being considered, together with all other relevant factors, in order that my right hon. and learned Friend may decide whether grounds exist for a reference back to the Court of Appeal.
