To ask the Prime Minister what discussions Ministers have had with representatives of the South African Conservative party since 1979.

§ The Prime Minister
My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary visited South Africa in September 1992 as leader of the EC troika. He met leaders of all major groups including the Conservative party. The Government have kept in contact with all the main parties in South Africa in the context of encouraging progress towards a democratic, non-racial constitution.
