§ Mr. EggarThe Government currently have no plans to privatise either Nuclear Electric or British Nuclear Fuels. As regards the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority, I announced in my reply of 1 April 1993,Official Report, column 407, to my hon. Friend the Member for Harlow (Mr. Hayes) that, as a first step, I was commissioning independent consultants to consider the practicability of privatising the authority and to advise on the main options. Scottish Nuclear Ltd. is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland.
