Mr. Dewar

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, pursuant to his answer of 1 April,Official Report, column 419, if he will give a breakdown of the number of claimants and dependants on income support by standard region; and if he will give equivalent figures for the past three years.

Such information as is available is in the tables. The latest year for which regional figures are available is 1991.
