HC Deb 21 April 1993 vol 223 cc119-23W
Mrs. Mahon

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will supply numbers and comparative rates for deaths and registrations of deaths by health authority districts in England and Wales on female breast cancer since the present district health authority areas were established.

Mr. Sackville

The information is shown in the table. Deaths included are those with an underlying cause of malignant neoplasm of the female breast—ICD 174 ninth revision—and district health authorities as constituted in 1991. The death rates are based on the DHA population estimates for 1986, except for the DHAs indicated which are based on 1991.
