To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many claims for industrial injuries compensation from sufferers of emphysema or bronchitis caused by pneumoconiosis or silicosis have been withdrawn due to bereavement of claimants since August 1992.

I understand from Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency, that the information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
