§ Mr. MeacherTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will place in the Library details of all aid and trade provision projects awarded since April 1991 and all those currently in operation or under negotiation.
§ Mr. Lennox-Boyd[holding answer 2 April 1993]: Aid agreements involving aid and trade provision funds which have been concluded with Governments of developing countries since April 1991 have been placed in the Library. All the projects are still in operation.
A list of projects for which ODA has made a current offer of aid and for which ECGD cover remains available has also been placed in the Library.
§ Mr. MeacherTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) if he will place in the Library a list of all aid and trade provision-related environmental consultancy contracts awarded since 1980;
(2) if he will place in the Library a list of the environmental consultancies currently engaged in aid and trade provision-linked assignments.
Mr. Lennnox-Boyd[holding answer 2 April 1993]: ODA's central records do not indentify separately all environmental consultancy contracts related to the aid and trade provision since 1980. A number of consultancies have contained environmental components, although most environmental appraisal work on ATP projects is carried out by the ODA's in-house advisers in accordance with ODA's manual of environmental appraisal. Monitoring is done both in-house and using consultants.
