The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question about firms tendering for the Prison Education Service.
Mr. Lloyd announced on 11 February the award of the contracts for 68 prisons and young offender institutions. A list of those to whom contracts have been awarded is enclosed. Contracts for 57 prison establishments have still to be awarded.
