§ Mr. MatesThe average weekly costs in 1991–92, the last year for which confirmed figures are available, and excluding headquarters and other central costs which cannot be readily attributed to individual prison establishments, were as follows:
Per week (i) Young Offenders Centre £880 (ii) Prison £1,279 The cost for the young offenders centre relates specifically to the male young offenders centre at Hydebank Wood; female young offenders are located in Maghaberry prison and separate figures could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
There is no borstal in Northern Ireland.
