§ Mr. PopeTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what steps he has taken to promote the use of school leavers' records of achievement in the recruitment policies of Government Departments.
§ Mr. PortilloAs from 4 May, Departments and agencies will be given delegated responsibility for setting recruitment criteria for entrants to all but their senior grades. When the delegation is made, guidance will be issued to encourage the use of individuals' records of achievement as a valuable source of information, both of their academic and vocational qualifications and their attainments in other areas.
