§ Mr. Kenneth CarlisleThe testing of both heavy goods vehicles and public service vehicles is conducted by the vehicle inspectorate, on behalf of the Secretary of State. The inspectorate keeps a database on individual vehicle test histories. While the operator of each vehicle is normally included in each test history file, as the test applicant, this information is not, at present, cross-referenced to provide PSV test data for individual operators. Individual test results are released by VI only to other enforcement bodies or the owner of the vehicle.
