§ Mr. Charles WardleIf, as a result of the market testing programme, the operation of the Hendon data centre, which is responsible for maintaining the police national computer service, is contracted out, the contract will be placed only with an organisation which is able to maintain at least the present levels of security. The security requirements will be specified in detail if and when bids for the contract are invited.
