To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what has been the number of(a) council houses and (b) private houses built in the Greater London area in each of the last three years.

Estimates are shown of the total numbers of housebuilding completions by sector in Greater London for 1990 to 1992. Housing associations are now the main providers of new housing for the social sector.
