Whether, pursuant to the Answer given by Baroness Blatch on 1st April, their response to the discussion paper on exclusions published on 30th November will be published before the end of the Easter Recess, in order for it to be considered by Lords in advance of the discussion in committee of the relevant provisions in the Education Bill currently before this House.

Whether they will publish before the end of Easter Recess the information gathered by the Department of Education between May 1990 and September 1992 under the National Exclusions Reporting System; and whether they will reinstitute the system as a means of monitoring the use of exclusions during the coming period of change.
§ Baroness BlatchWe shall publish an analysis of the information gathered under the National Exclusions Reporting System shortly. We are considering in the light of responses to our exclusions discussion paper what system of information gathering would be best for the future.
