§ Mr. AllenTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will now make it his practice to disclose the reasons why individual passengers have been admitted, or refused entry, to the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Charles WardleMy right hon. and learned Friend has no plans to change existing practice. Reasons for. the grant or refusal of leave to enter are normally only given to the individual concerned or his nominated representative. We do however reserve the right to comment on the reasons for any decision where the person affected by it has sought to publicise the matter, or where it appears to be in the public interest to do so.
