Common Agricultural Policy

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the total cost of the common agricultural policy for 1992–93; how much of this will be paid by the United Kingdom; and how much of its proceeds will be derived as income for British farmers.

Table 22 of the 1993 departmental report by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and Intervention Board provides the relevant information on the EC budget, the United Kingdom contribution, and United Kingdom receipts from it in relation to the CAP. Table 20 of the same publication provides information on expenditure within the United Kingdom. A copy of the departmental report has been lodged in the House of Commons Library.
