To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he has received the advice of the Veterinary Products Committee on his request as to whether a moratorium on organophosphorous sheep dips would be appropriate; and if he will make a statement.

Following my meeting with a parliamentary delegation on 16 February, I asked the Veterinary Products Committee for advice on whether it would be prudent, in the light of the evidence currently available, to have a moratorium on organophosphorous sheep dips until its current review of these products is complete. I have now received the following advice from the Committee:
