To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment which local authorities have sold off all of their council housing stock.

Mr. Baldry

To date, a total of 21 local authorities have disposed of all, or the vast majority, of their housing stock through large-scale voluntary transfers. The councils concerned are listed in the table. Those marked with an asterisk no longer have any council housing stock other than hostels or part shares in dwellings sold under shared ownership schemes.
