§ Sir Hector MonroThe total area of woodland planted or grant-aided by the Forestry Commission in the year to 31 March 1992, including woodland replanted after felling, was 33,237 hectares. Of this, 11,259 hectares were planted by the Commission and 21,978 by the private sector. This total is close to the average of the previous 20 years, as shown in the table.
