§ Mr. NelsonNo contribution of foreign reserve assets would be made unless the United Kingdom were to participate in stage 3 of economic and monetary union. The United Kingdom share of any initial contribution if we did participate could only be calculated nearer the time, under articles 30.1 and 29.1. This amount could also be increased subsequently under article 30.4.
