§ Mr. HinchliffeTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what is her estimate of(a) the current number of unregistered children's establishments and (b) the number of children placed in such establishments.
§ Mr. YeoInformation on the number of children's homes still to be registered has been collected as part of the Children Act monitoring survey, the results of which are due to be the subject of a report to Parliament in the new year. Some information on the numbers of children placed by local authorities in homes which fall to be registered has now been collected and will be available in time for inclusion in the report to Parliament. Information on the number of children in unregistered establishments is not collected centrally.
