§ Mr. DafisTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make it his policy at the Development conference on 18 November to seek the amendment of the EC White Paper on development to ensure that the chief aims of the development policy are the elimination of poverty and the fostering of sustainable development.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydWe hope to see adopted by Ministers on 18 November a resolution setting out as the central objectives of development co-operation policy, the sustainable social and economic development of the developing countries, and more particularly the most disadvantaged among them; the smooth and gradual integration of the developing countries into the world economy; and the campaign against poverty in developing countries.
