§ Sir Wyn RobertsTo date, eight sites in Wales have been designated as special protection areas (SPAs) under the EC directive on the conservation of wild birds (79/409/EEC). In addition, a further six sites are proposed SPAs and as such are afforded similar protection to designated SPAs.
