HC Deb 28 October 1992 vol 212 c699W
Ms. Walley

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will inquire of the Governor of Hong Kong the reasons for the invoking of legislation prohibiting the plutonium ship Akat Suki Maru from entering its territorial waters; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The Hong Kong Government have not invoked legislation prohibiting the ship Akat Suki Maru from entering Hong Kong waters. Hong Kong is aware of its international obligations as regards navigation through its waters. There is no reason to expect that the ship will enter Hong Kong waters.
