To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will estimate the number of new council homes which will be(a) started and (b) completed in 1992, 1993 and 1994.

The Department does not prepare forecasts of housebuilding activity. Estimates of actual housebuilding starts and completions by local authorities are published in the annual and quarterly versions of "Housing and Construction Statistics". Copies of these publications are in the Library.
