HC Deb 27 October 1992 vol 212 c598W
Mr. John D. Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many babies were born at(a) Ards hospital, (b) Bangor hospital and (c) Ulster hospital in each of the past five years.

Mr. Hanley

The information requested is as follows:

The increased costs of the staff commission therefore relate primarily to the remuneration of new staff, although the commission did move to new premises this year and the rental and furnishing costs associated with this are reflected in the current year's budget.

Although the commission's budget has risen substantially over the past few years, I am entirely satisfied that it is necessary in order to ensure that it is in a position to help councils and the NIHE meet their statutory obligations and also to enable it to assist them to enhance and develop their reputation as good employers.
