§ Mr. HanleyThe management structure of the new institute provides for three deputy director posts—its nomenclature for vice-principal—of which two have been filled to date. One of these was a former vice-principal. Of the remaining four former vice-principals, three continue to be employed on protected salaries and none of these undertakes teaching duties. The other former vice-principal has retired.

§ Mr. HanleyThe central headquarters of the Belfast Institute is at Park house, 87–91 Great Victoria street, Belfast. The cost of adapting the premises was £101,000. Twenty-five institute staff are located there. The estimated annual running costs are £113,000.
§ Mr. William RossTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many heads of department were appointed to the new Belfast Institute; and how many of the heads of department of the former colleges were not appointed and retain salaries; and what are the annual costs associated with such department status former heads of departments over the salaries payable for the posts they now occupy.
