§ Mr. Michael ForsythMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State met the general secretary and deputy general secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) on 9 June 1992.
As President of the Council of Social Affairs Ministers, she met representatives from the European Trades Union Confederation (ETUC) on 27 July 1992 to discuss the United Kingdom presidency of the European Community. The president and general secretary of the ETUC were also present at the opening session of the informal meeting of the EC Employment and Social Affairs Ministers on 12 October 1992.
My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister and I also met representatives of the ETUC on 15 September to discuss priorities for the United Kingdom presidency.
I also met the General Secretary of the TUC at the International Labour Organisation Conference in June 1992, and I have also had meetings with individual trade union leaders over recent months.
