HC Deb 26 October 1992 vol 212 cc453-4W
Ms. Mowlam

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, as part of his quality service objectives, he will require the publication of the results of all fire brigade inspections at British Rail stations commissioned since 1985 using public money.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

British Rail stations require a fire certificate in accordance with an order under the Fire Precautions Act 1971. The issue of such certificates is the responsibility of fire authorities, which are specifically forbidden under section 21 of the Act from disclosing, except in clearly defined circumstances, any information obtained by their employees during an inspection.
