§ Mr. Charles WardleThe Government supported the establishment of the European centre for the validation of alternative methods at Ispra in Italy, and we shall, along with our partners, endeavour to ensure that the centre is a success.
The United Kingdom has not been asked to make a specific financial contribution towards the work of the centre. Were Community-wide funding to be sought for the centre, any agreed United Kingdom contribution would be made as part of the United Kingdom's overall contribution to the Community's budget.
