To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will introduce a scheme to provide tax relief for companies and businesses providing services to agriculture to enable them to retain employees who would otherwise be made redundant.

Mr. Dorrell

My right hon. Friend has no plans for new tax relief for agricultural service businesses.

Mr. Kirkwood

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will introduce a scheme to provide increased tax relief on capital assets held by companies and businesses providing services to agriculture to enable them to retain employees who would otherwise be made redundant.

Mr. Dorrell

I have no plans to do so.
